Returning Your Vehicle

Cars — back to a Zelf station

Bring the car back to your pre-booked Zelf station. The app shows you which one you are booked to go back to. It needs to be in a designated Zelf bay if one exist or within the geo-fenced area that you can see on the app’s map  — you can’t leave it anywhere with parking enforcement, blocking driveways, illegal parking i.e on double yellows or restricted time zones etc… Best way to remember this; if you wouldn’t park your own car there, then don’t park ours there.

Park up. Turn off the engine and lights. Grab your belongings. Open the app and tap End Rental. Take the return photos. The app locks the doors via Bluetooth. Check the handle — done.

Remember to refuel the vehicle, otherwise you will get charged for missing litres at a premium charge to you as shown in the app pricing. Conversely; don’t overfill it as we don’t apply credit for this!

Vans — back to the depot

Vans go back to the same depot you collected from. No exceptions.

Park the van. Check the cab and the back for anything you’ve left behind. Open the app, tap End Rental, take your photos. The app locks up. Jump in your own car and head home.

Running late?

The easy fix is to extend your booking through the app before your end time (maximum extension limits apply – double your initial booking length). This is always subject to availability as the vehicle may be due out to another customer.

There is No extra fee for extending — just the standard rate for the extra hours.

If you go past your end time without extending or letting us know, a £25 admin fee applies on top of the standard time charge. See Schedule A for the full details.

Returning in the wrong spot?

If you leave the vehicle outside a designated station or depot, a £40 fee applies, plus any recovery or towing costs. Always check the app for approved return spots before you park. Full details in Schedule A.
