If Something Goes Wrong
Zero Liability — What’s Covered and What’s Not
Every Zelf booking comes with comprehensive insurance. Drive normally, follow the app’s instructions, and you’ve got Zero Liability — meaning if something goes wrong, you don’t pay for it.
What Zero Liability covers
Accidental damage — bumps, scrapes, dents from normal driving. Theft or attempted theft. Vandalism. Third-party costs from an accident during your booking.
What can affect your cover
A small number of serious actions remove Zero Liability entirely for that booking — things like driving into an overhead barrier, driving under the influence, letting an unauthorised person drive, or being dishonest about what happened. The complete list is in Schedule B.
The £300 hold
The £300 deposit is security, not a damage charge. If nothing is owed at the end of your booking, it comes straight back subject to your banks usual processing time. It’s only used if a charge arises under the terms.
The full conditions — exactly what is and isn't covered, and what you're always responsible for regardless — are in Schedule B. It's clear and worth reading before your first booking.
